The Arrival of David Robert Kane!!

What a wonderful weekend... first Marybeth Stingle's shower, than the birth of David Robert Kane, the Matt's surprise going away party, then Angie's bacholorette party, then helping Alan and Jamie move, and then Britney Yoder's Graduation party! So much is going on in the lives of our friends and we are rejoicing with them!!

I'm posting pictures of one of the most adorable babies I've ever seen... David is such a handsome new born and looks so much like his Mama and Dada... he's such a little Kane!! Maribeth is doing well and she will be home tomorrow... she has a historic labor story, but I'll let her tell it! Here are the pictures of the beautiful baby boy she birthed at 9:27 Saturday morning !!

He's FINALLY here!!!!

Someone very exciting arrived this week! Samual Stingle came home to Marybeth and Bryan, the long awaiting parents, in a big, happy blur this past Tuesday. He entered their lives at 5 months old, almost 16 lbs, and very energetic! He is already eating baby food and looks like he's ready to crawl. He likes going for walks outside and takes really good naps in the morning... the afternoon ones have been tough because he's teething. He is such a wonderful baby... and they are such wonderful parents!! We are so glad you're here Sam... WELCOME HOME!!!

Kenzie the Crawler!!

So my mom and my sister and I all went to the beach today, and when we came back, our little girl was crawling! She hung out with Ella Lockhart for the first part of the day, and Ella just mastered crawling this weekend. Well, she must have taught Mackenzie everything she learned, cuz then when my dad got her this afternoon, he got her to crawl! He got some spoons out (she loves regular old spoons for some reason) and he put them in front of her and she scooted herself forward so he moved them a little further away and she ended up crawling a total of 8 feet! Andy texted a short video of it to me and Amy while we were down at the beach and I couldn't believe my eyes... I watched it like 20 times! Then when we got home she performed for Aunt Amy and Memom and me... and later she performed again for daddy at home! So it's official, she's growing up way too fast... how do I freeze everything???

A Microwave, and Sweet Potato, and a Very Close Call!

So... it was so scary... I was making a sweet potato in the microwave last night (I put it in for 10 mins, I know I've done that before without a problem!) and I started to smell smoke. I went into the kitchen and WOW... there was smoke pouring out of the microwave and the whole inside was glowing orange!! I said, "Jake, something's not right, something's not right... help!" He is such a hero, he came running in and then ran out (meanwhile I was trying to get out our fire extinguisher, but when he ran out of the room, I ran out and grabbed Mackenzie and ran outside...) and shut off the main breaker. He served so diligently in the smoke, opening the windows and getting the microwave outside (he was so cute using oven mitts!) We spent a lot of time outside and then went in and went to bed... luckily our rooms were ok, we shut the doors and put on the air conditioners right away and it seemed to do the trick! Here are some pictures of the horrific microwave story! We actually got the microwave pretty clean, but we don't know if it works yet or not.
The burnt sweet potato... I don't know if I'll ever be able to eat one again!
Mackenzie talking to her daddy out on the hammock!
My Babies!
Trying to get away... she's so squirmy!

So... if any of you have suggestions on how to rid our house of the smell of smoke (it is bad, really BAD!), please let me know! So far I have bowls of vinegar sitting out and the carpet is sprinkled with baking soda, I'll vacuum that up when I'm done this. I've washed all the curtains and we've frebreezed everything that's fabric. The walls stink though and the carpet is nasty too... any ideas?? You can either email me or leave them in the comment section... thanks!

Lots of Fun!

Well... I had a few more pictures from FL on my little camera that I forgot about... here they are: This was our set up at the beach... a big sheet and adults all around trying to keep her on that sheet!
Here she is sporting her new tankini under her sun jacket thingy... her belly just wouldn't stay hidden!
Here's Nana cooling her off with some water... she liked that!
On Tuesday this week we went to Hershey Park with Memom, Uncle Andy, Uncle Stephen, the Lockhart's, and the Difasio's... it was so much fun! Here's our little girl on her first ride!
Here she is with buddy Ella and big sister Hannah!
Here she is on the tram back to the cars with Memom!

Ok, these pictures are a little out of order... on Sunday we had a surprise shower for Angie. Here's just a taste of all the people that were there... she is being so welcomed into our church family... so many people love her already (what's not to love!!??)
My mom made her the coolest thing... she copied all of Jeff's favorite recipes and put them in a recipe holder for her... complete with a great recipe for dessert =)
The CHOCOLATE ROOM!!!

Here's my Hottie... he's getting ready for his big hiking trip this summer... I just think he looks cute and it needed to go up on the blog! He was practicing with his new boots and he filled the backpack with two 10 pound weights and 15 water bottles... I couldn't even lift it onto my shoulders, but he got it on his back and we hiked for a good hour together! (I did push the jogging stroller over the sand pits though and that was a good work out!)
So... when Daddy came home the other day, Mommy got up to greet him at the door with a kiss... and then we got kissin' and heard a "clink"... woops... guess I left her carrots a little too close!
She was covered in carrots!!

She tried so hard to feed herself with her left hand... and held her spoon very seriously with her right hand... not quite successful at feeding herself yet, but so cute for a first try!
