A Fun Filled End Of Summer!

Mackenzie and I have been very busy enjoying the last days of August. We've enjoyed a birthday party at a park, a trip to the beach, pool days, free breakfasts at Chic-fil-a, and many walks with Daddy on these nice cool evenings! Here are some pictures to enjoy!
Her friend Grace turned one this past weekend and we had so much fun at her birthday party in at a beautiful park near her house! Mackenzie enjoyed the birthday "apple muffins"... no "real" sugar past these lips yet!

On Monday we had the BEST trip to the shore to see Miss Sherie and her girls! Mackenzie amazed me by how fearless she is in the water... she got her face wet a ton and didn't cry at all!

I love how "posed" she looks in this one!

Here she is crawling TOWARDS the water... she cracked me up and kept me very busy!

My favorite picture of the whole day!! I love those sandy cheekies!!

Enjoying some fun in the pool in our backyard...

Her "flower girl" dress!! Connie saved us tons by giving us one of Karis and Rayna's old flower girl dresses with full permission to alter it since she has another one if Lydia ever needs it! I LOVE this dress so much!! It does need some alterations though... anyone know where I could get a good hem??

Isn't this the sweetest picture?? She looks like a little bride (says the teary-eyed mama!) I love the buttons on the back... it's so elegant! Isn't that little look over the shoulder to die for?? I had so much fun taking pictures of her in this dress! Now we just have to get it to fit her!!

BIG NEWS!!!

Coming March 27, 2009!!!

A Recent Video

I realized I haven't posted any videos of her in a while, so here is a 40 second video of her "dancing" to the music that her toy plays for her. She is getting so smart and realizes that if she presses the buttons she hears music, if she opens and closes the door, she hears music, if she opens and closes the mailbox, she hears music, etc... this thing makes a LOT of noise! She gets so proud of herself and wants me to watch her all the time!

I can't believe it, but I don't have ONE picture of when Nana and Poppop Moon came to visit this weekend! Not one!! They were taking pictures the whole time, what was I doing?? I kept meaning to, but I didn't take a single one! But we had a really nice visit with them just the same and Mackenzie and I are looking forward to going down there for a weekend in Oct. to visit. Daddy can't come this time cuz he has to work on Monday, so it will be the first real adventure Mommy and Mackenzie get to have all by ourselves!

Uncle Stephen Comes To Visit!

While the entire Boettcher Family is away at Youth Camp this week, the remains of the family, namely the Moons and Stephen, are getting to spend time together. We got Stephen at 10 yesterday and we hung out at the Rayasky's pool for a while before coming home. He fed her her cottage cheese sandwich in the backseat and when we got home she was covered in cottage cheese! Besides that though, he's been the BIGGEST help! Last night he cleaned her all up after dinner and got her out of her high chair all by himself. He pushed her in the stroller on a walk with me yesterday and again on a walk to the park to play Frisbee with Jake last night. Today he was incredibly helpful at Chic Fil A where we met up with the William's and Maribeth and David to enjoy some free breakfast sandwiches! And he even did some grocery shopping with me without complaining! I have to give him up to the Gaffney's tonight cuz they wanted a turn with him too, but I'm really going to miss him and so is Mackenzie! She adores her Uncle Stephen! Here she is "asking" me if it was ok to wake him up this morning.
And here she is attacking him with all her love this morning!
He was so kind and got up in the tubes with her at Chic Fil A.

Here she is with her bud, Caleb. She felt like such a big girl with all these big kids!
So, in conclusion of my sad, sad, diatribe last week, I just want to say that Jake made it home safely last Friday night/Saturday morning. We didn't actually get home from the airport until 3:30 in the morning because a very important set of keys accidently got locked in the car... but we made it home safe and sound. We have been one very happy family this week. Mackenzie crawled around the house and said nothing but, "Dad, Daa" all day on Saturday. Mommy is happy to have Daddy home, Mackenzie is happy to have Daddy home, and I'm pretty sure Daddy is happy to be home. He took the most beautiful pictures... I'll post them next!

My dad claims he only wore this mosquito netting for 3 mins. and Jake make him put it back on for a picture... he's so cute, isn't he?

Uncle Andy, Andy, my Dad, and the Hubba-Hubba-Hottest-Man-in-the-Universe. The pictures are gorgeous, but the best ones are the ones he is in!

The Lonely Life of the Moon Girls...

Well, before Jake left on Saturday, he cleaned out my car for me... seriously cleaned it out cuz I've had water leaking into the passenger and driver side floor for months. He fixed the leak and power washed and scrubbed my floor mats and floor. All the time he was working Mackenzie pulled herself up at the window and was screaming, "Daaa... Daa.." at the top of her lungs! It was so cute... Notice the tippy toes!
The outside view!
After Jake left early, early Saturday morning for the big guy hiking trip out west, I tried to keep busy. I went to the beach with the Harvey's and the Lockhart's on Saturday, a birthday party and then a pool party on Sunday, the Williams house on Monday (see picture of our cute little cherubs below), Mommom's on Tues. and spent the night and stayed all day Wednesday, and today I helped my sister with her wedding invitations and had a meeting to go to at night! Whew... tomorrow consists of going dress hunting for a dress for my mom to wear to Amy's wedding. It will be a fun girl day with Angie and Mackenzie and Amy too! And then I'm going to a concert in Philly before picking up my love from the airport!! I can't even describe how much I miss him! It's a whole new level of missing too since I've seen Mackenzie miss him this whole week as well! Every morning she's looked for him in our bed, she'd roll over after eating and look at his empty pillow and say, "Da"... it's just breaks my heart! We finally got to talk to him today and I cried so hard I could barely hear him at first! I put the phone up to Mackenzie's ear and she smiled so big!! Only 23 hours and 57 mins now until his plane lands!!

A Long Update on the Happenings of Mackenzie!

  • Mackenzie has been very busy doing big girl things lately! She and Ella have been enjoying their last days at the pool together before Ella leaves... they are both in that "I'll crawl on the cement if it means I can pick up that little tiny leaf I want to eat" stage. So cute! Here she is chillin' at the RayRay's... here favorite place to hang!
This is her new cream cheese beard. She's old enough now to enjoy a lot of dairy products and she loves cream cheese or cottage cheese smeard on bread.
She really does eat some of it! But I think her favorite thing is painting the table, the chair, and herself with it!
  • Her new tricks keep coming! She figured out she can throw things off the table and thinks it's quite funny... mommy does not! (Ok, I did laugh at first... am I always going to think these little things are cute at first then get myself into trouble for laughing?)
  • She got a new tooth on the bottom... 7 teeth in all now!
  • She has a new game she plays with daddy. They chase each other around the island in the kitchen, and then they stop, and peek their heads around the corner and when they see each other she cracks up and tries to chase him! He loves this little game with his little girl!
  • We are almost done with baby food! She is eating mostly finger food now and I can't keep enough fresh fruits and veggies in the house! So far she likes healthy stuff! Avocado is still her favorite... weird, huh?
  • She is finally letting me read to her! For the first 10 months of her life she has only liked to EAT books, now she will finally let me hold her and read to her! Her favorite is the one my mom got her for Christmas called "Peek-a-boo Kisses". She finds all the animals and pets each one with her finger. We're still working on making the animal sounds, not much luck yet!
  • She totally says Mama and Dada now without question! She looks at each of us and says it! Last night we went on a date and dear Miss Sherie babysat for us. We waved bye-bye to her and she waved back and said "Dada"... breaking Jake's heart as we walked out the door!
  • She's still playing "So Big", Peek-a-boo, waving hi and bye, clapping, and pulling herself up on everything! She's getting good at holding on with one hand and will "cruise" a tiny bit holding on the the furniture.
  • We can't wait for Memom and Poppop to get home from their trip out West! Mackenzie's been missing her fan club of Uncle Stephen, Uncle Andy, and Aunt Amy too! Daddy is leaving soon for a big hiking trip with the guys... I've made lots of plans to keep us busy and out of mourning! And when Daddy gets back, 4 days later Nana and Poppop are coming up for a short visit! We are so excited to see them and Mackenzie can't wait to show them all her new tricks!
There's our update for now!
