We were blessed with a snow day today! Jake got to stay home and play with us in the snow! He was cracking up at me in my snow gear, he had to get a picture. Bending over and getting my boots on was the hardest part, but I did it without asking for help! (I have been caving though and asking for help with my socks recently... I was just feeling too proud today!)

Kenzie wasn't a huge fan of this snow because it was way too hard for her to walk in... it came up past her knees!

She also wasn't a big fan of Daddy pulling her in the sled either. She kept falling out of it and crying.

"No, no... don't put me back in that thing!"

She "tried" to walk to me... but it was a failed attempt... she couldn't take a step without falling!

This is a video from the other day... it's kinda long, but it's really cute. She and Jake were playing this game for like 10 mins before I decided to pull out the video camera!
This is a video of Jake pulling her in the sled today... you can see she doesn't quite understand holding on and balancing yet.
When she woke up from her nap today we played a family game of hide and seek... she liked that for a little bit. We're trying to brain storm some other ideas to keep her busy while we're stuck inside... if you have any ideas, please feel free to comment!

oh my goodness, that sledding video is hysterical! justin and i were both crackig up watching mackenzie tumble backwards...and i love her feet kicking in the air! too funny! elise wasn't amused with the snow either. the only way she liked it was eating it!
Yea... Mackenzie didn't even like eating the snow until Jake brought it inside and turned it into "snow cream"... sugar, vanilla, milk, and just the right amount of snow!
Julie,
Too funny!! Poor Kenzie...if only she knew how much we giggle at her expense :)!!
Some inside ideas (nothing too original-just things we have had fun with over the years) with you right there since she probably puts everything in her mouth:
*Playdo with cookie cutters (you can google a recipe for homemade)teach her how to make balls and 'snakes' with the dough
*A bowl full of uncooked rice with a spoon and small cups for her to spoon it into...you can hide little things in the bowl too for her to find...this works best if you do it on a sheet that you can take right outside and shake it out...don't ask how i know!!
* peg board puzzles or simple puzzles with chunky pieces
*coloring with chunky toddler sized crayons
Hang in there, mommy--spring is coming!!!
Thank you so much for the ideas... I love the rice idea... we'll try that tomorrow!
i like the pic of you in your snow gear :) don't feel bad asking for help putting socks on! :)
