A Rainy Week

This week was mostly rainy... during the one beautiful day we had I took a few pictures... they didn't turn out that great, I can't wait to learn how to do all the cool things I can do with my new camera, hopefully I'll get to do a lot of reading up on it on our vacation! We're going to see Jake's parents soon and we're all getting so excited! They just got a pool put in and you can walk to the beach from their house... it's paradise down there! I can't wait for Mackenzie to see them and I'm hoping she's starts crawling while we're down there so they get to see one of her "firsts"!

On Wed. we celebrated our 3 year anniversary! The Lockhart's babysat for us and we enjoyed a nice date to Red Lobster! It was really nice to sit and talk and feel undistracted. Mackenzie totally rocked it out all day in an adorable dress from Jamie Finn... but she was teething and not a happy girl so it was nice to have some quiet after all the tears! She now officially has 4 teeth and I think she might even be working on some more, but I don't know if that's supposed to happen yet or not.

Also on Wed. we went bridesmaids' dress shopping for Amy's wedding... we had a terrible experience at the first store, but at the second store we found "the dress" and not only are they gorgeous, but they come in maternity for Jamie and jr. bridesmaid for Emily!! It was so hard to find something... Amy literally looked at over 3000 dresses on line... I can't believe we were able to find such an awesome dress and we only had to go to 2 stores!

Thurs. night was really fun, we had Kayla and Conor (Jake's sister's children) and Stephen over. Kayla is seriously the sweetest kid I have ever met... I don't know anyone that is as respectful and helpful and kind as her. She sees things that need to be done and does them without even being asked! And she is so kind and patient with her little brother too. Conor is a handful, but so much fun! He played so nicely with Mackenzie's toys all night. He let me read to him and he snuggled with me on the couch until it was time for him to sleep. Then he laid nicely on the couch while we played Life with Stephen and Kayla in the kitchen! Stephen ended up spending the night and he got up with Mackenzie this morning and let me sleep in... it was so nice! I think I want him to sleep over more often =)

I gotta go put Jake to bed now... he's sleeping on the couch and I just heard Mackenzie cry and said "Oh, no"... he put his head up and looked around and said "What's so funny?"... I think he's sleep talking again, I love it when he does that! I told him he should go to bed and I'd be there in a minute but he said (cohertly this time, I think) "But I just like being near you..." What a Sweetheart... I'm so lucky! I love him so much!
