Mackenzie's First Birthday!!!

Here's our birthday girl the day before her birthday! She opened up the gift Nana and Poppop sent her in the mail and loved the box and paper it came in! Later she did enjoy the lamb that plays "Jesus Loves Me" and kept giving it to me to wind up for her again and again. Here she is in her "cool girl" jeans (I just love babies in jeans!) doing one of her big girl tricks! She's so good at walking with her walker! She takes it very seriously too!

Where did the birthday girl go??

"Happy Birthday Dear Mackenzie!!"
Mommy and Daddy with their big one-year-old!!
Mackenzie: "Hmmm... do I like this??"
Mackenzie: "I think not... my hands are messy and I can't get this stuff off!"
Mackenzie: "Daddy, will you please show me how to eat this stuff?"

Daddy: "Sure Mackenzie, the trick is to eat a little of the cake part too, not just the icing."

Mackenzie: "Oh look at all my friends! Thanks everybody for coming to my party! What?? You all want to see me eat this cake and like it? Oh, ok!"
Mackenzie: "Cheese!! Pictures anyone??"


Mackenzie: "I love my handsome uncles!"

Mackenzie: "I love my friend Grace!" Mackenzie: "Tired?? Who me?? Are you kidding... give me another piece of cake!"
Thanks everyone for coming to the celebration of Mackenzie's first year of life! I can't believe she's survived, with me as her mom, for this long! God is so good... I think about every morning the first few months where I would anxiously tiptoe into her room convinced she had died in the night, and again and again God protected her and brought her to see another new day! He has written each and everyone of her days in His book before one of them came to be and I am so grateful for all of her days so far that I've gotten to be a part of!
