Jake came home just a minute ago and brought me flowers... I gave one to Mackenzie and here are the results:

We have an official toddler on our hands! Babbling, bumped heads, temper tantrums and all! I love watching her walk around the house... she's getting better and better at it! Here are some from outside a few days ago!

Uncle Stephen came and stayed over at our house Sunday night. He and Mackenzie love each other so much! She loved feeling like a big girl chillin' with him on the couch with her "cool" milk cup and animal crackers!
Later they decided to read together... eventually she attacked him and they started to wrestle, but it was so cute while it lasted!
God is so faithful! We've seen his protection over Mackenzie in a whole new way now that she toddles around! Last Friday I made my most stupid Mommy mistake ever. I put her down to lock the door at Amy's apartment and she toddled right off the steps... all three of them!! She survived with a bump and a scrap on her forhead, but it could have been A LOT worse! She cried, but I definitly cried longer and harder. I called Jake hysterical and after I calmed down I told him he was going to have to find someone else to be her mommy because I needed to resign... I just can't keep her alive through these toddler years! But I've been reminded by so many fellow parents (and my wonderful husband too) that I can't be everywhere all the time, but God is and He does protect our children from our stupid mistakes! I was thinking about how MUCH I LOVE her, and realized, God loves her even more than I do! And, unlike me, He NEVER makes mistakes! He is always watching her and allowing what is GOOD for her to happen to her. When we sang "How Great is Our God" at church this past Sunday, it had a whole new meaning as a mommy who had just watched God protect her baby. He is a GREAT God and I've just seen His greatness displayed in a whole new way!
